Tehnical problem for Client/server application (UNIX/Windows 95)

We are installing a client/Server application , wich use ODBC connection to access data in an Informix database. We are not able to have a good connexion. The server is a HP 9000 with HP-UX V9, Informix-SE V7.1. We have downloaded Informix-Client SDK 2.03. The client is a PC with Windows 95 and a VB5 application. At this time, we are not able to execute, on the server, the process sqlexecd. This process is it mandatory ? The message is "daemon error = -25592. communication service not supported by network driver". Where is the problem ?
