migrating IDS and performance problem
Hi everyone,
I am migrating IDS 10.50 FC3 informix DB from one Power6 with AIX 6.1 to
another Power8 AIX 7.1 IDS 11.70 FC4. IDS dbspaces are on FC storage EMC
VNX5300 with native MPIO drivers
I have very strange behavior, I am moving with dbexport and dbimport to the
new IDS. Import on the new server of the tables is very fas, but when dbimport
go to create procedures they are importing very slow (24 hours and more).
I do this steps: Divide sql file on first part is creat and load datas in
tables, second part, procedures and function, 3th part views and 4th index and
update statistics. With this divide import is finishing in reasonable time.Configuration of the IDS onconfig on both machines are same (this is for test
purpose to compare working of the new server with same settings), but the
results are not very good. I make AUS and run upstade stat from AUS and then I
have good performances
on the new server but in compare from the old Srv I have some slow results.
Differences of the this two systems are this on the old Srv dbspaces and
chunks are 2GB sizes, new Srv is configure with 1 big dbs fo data, and
tempdbs, plogdbs, llogdbs, sbspace and blob space (using raw devices not
coked). I am attaching onconfig of the new Srv
