Informix Binaries get corrupted

Hi, Can anyone assist me with the issue below: We are currently building Test Informix server on HP-UX B.11.31 and Informix version is 11.70.FC8W1.The issue that we are facing is after ontape restore complete running , Informix binaries get corrupted while the DB is still on fast recovery mode and we cannot put the database online. We previously ran a restore on the QA server and this two servers have the same resources but the Test server corrupts Informix binaries. Will really appreciate any help possible. Thank you.

Hi Zanele, this is pretty strange. ontape restore is reading backup (tape, file, stdin, whatever) and it is ONLY writing files (raw or cooked) pointed by chunk names. So, do you have raw disks or you are using files? If you are using files - are those files (chunks) on the same file system as informix binaries? In that case do you have enough space on that file system? Regards, Hrvoje

Why do you think that the binaries have been corrupted? Did you also restore logical logs? If not, after the restore the engine will be in Quiescent mode. You have to bring the full online mode (onmode -m and wait for the engine to report that it is On-Line) to complete fast recovery before shutting it down or you will have to perform the restore all over again.
