Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

I recently did a level-0 ontape backup of instance_1 on server_1 and
restored it to server_2.
All seems to be well until I try and perform a query against a
database table on the new instance. I get:
-23197 Database locale information mismatch.
There is no such problem on the original instance. I checked the
following:
- The user environment is exactly the same on both instances.
DB_LOCALE and CLIENT_LOCALE variables are set to fi_fi.8859-1 on
both.
- GL_CTYPE and GL_COLLATE systables entries are the same on both
instances, and match up with the environment variables mentioned
above.
- The $INFORMIXDIR/gls/cm3/registry file is the same as the original.
- The permissions on all the subdirectories and files under
$INFORMIXDIR are correct, and none of the files under
$INFORMIXDIR/gls are missing on the new server.
The version is 7.24.UC4 on HP-UX. Does anyone have any ideas?
TIA
