That almost sounded like a compliment to Informix... :-) Poor marketing does not mean poor product, and to be honest even Oracle thinks more of Informix than this guy. :-) -- Compliments of QueriX -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QueriX 4GL Compilers are Informix 4GL Compatible, and Connection to other RDBMS such as Oracle. Hydra 4GL Compiler (Compatible with I4GL) Compile once, run everywhere Phoenix Windows GUI. (Front End to 4GL) Chimera Java GUI The only GUI you will ever need... (Front End to 4GL) Arachne Web Technology (Front End to 4GL on the Web & HTML Report Generator) ESQL/C Compiler For more details visit: http://www.querix.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isn't it interesting that questions such as which is the best database never seem to be asked on comp.databases.oracle.server I'll tell you my explanation - It doesn't NEED to be asked!!!! Its simply a non-Issue. Oracle is better than Informix. There, now I've said it, deal with it. P.s. Oracle is not all marketing - if the all-marketing approach to success as a RDBMS vendor actually worked, then we'd all be using Microsoft SQL Server 7 by now. Q.E.D. (Quod Erat Demonstrandum - Latin for 'Thus by this it is proved') Case closed. NEXT!
