I am Using Informix for NT and a I have a database that uses buffered logging. When I am trying to do the following: BEGIN WORK, ... <SOME STATEMENTS> ... COMMIT WORK; This error shows up: > > -256 Transaction not available. >You cannot begin a transaction in this database because it does not have a transaction log. The question here is, how do I start a transaction log in Informix for Windows NT? I do not find it in the Administrator's Guide. Thanks

You created a database without logging.
Change the logging mode of your database to "unbuffered logging":
$ ondblog unbuf NAME_OF_YOUR_DATABASE
Your can check the logging mode of your database with the
following Select:
DATABASE sysmaster;
SELECT * FROM sysdatabases WHERE name = "NAME_OF_YOUR_DATABASE";
hope this helps...
