Setting PDQPRIORITY for a Windows client
Posted in 1999
All, I need to know how to reliably set the PDQPRIORITY environment variable on a client wide basis for a PC client running Informix CLI 2.50.TC2 or Client SDK 2.1. These clients run a Microstrategy DSS Server or DSS Agent client on top of the Informix connectivity to do (hopefully parallelized) queries against IDS 7.24.UC5. It appears that PDQPRIORITY is _still_ not an environment variable in SetNet 32 in the latest version of Connect (9.whatever it is), so that's not an option. I've tried all the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/informix.rc and ~<user>/.informix stuff to no avail. I've tried adding a string value of PDQPRIORITY=10 to my Win 95 registry and this doesn't help. I've looked all through DejaNews and the best I can come up with is try some other drivers. What are some solutions that people have created to solve this problem? Ideally, first I'd like to hear about Informix-only solutions, then possible third party solutions. Thanks for your time, Wes Gamble P. S. Does anyone know about a way of setting PDQPRIORITY in Microstrategy's DSS Agent product? Supposedly there is the ability to run setup SQL before a session starts or before the beginning of a report generation - here you could run the SET PDQPRIORITY for Informix I would think. Any experience with this?
