Performances of OnLine versus SE -Reply

In the first instance your applications could possibly
benefit from some tuning, if you have never done
so.
Are you familiar with the 'set explain on' option of
dbaccess?
It is often possible to dramatically increase the
speed of operation of applications by tuning via this
means.
If as you say, it is slow with just one user, then i
suspect that you could gain some benefit from this
approach before throwing dollars at it by purchasing
Online.

We are currently running SE 7.11 in a UNIX
environment with about 50 users, and the system is
ridiculously slow. We have other applications on
the system which have not suffered with the growth
on the system, and even when I am the only user on
the system, it can be VERY slow. Would an
updrage to OnLine help, or is our software just
written poorly. Any insight is appreciated.
