Experienced INFORMIX-4GL Contract Programmer Needed Overview We are looking to staff a critical development project over the next several months. The project involves INFORMIX-4GL coding, testing and writing technical documentation. The work environment on these projects is fast paced, and requires that the project team members be capable of gaining knowledge of the system components and test environment quickly. Target dates have been established with the business units, which must be adhered to. Therefore, although time estimates do not include overtime, extra hours may be required. Technical Skills The project requires knowledge of UNIX (AIX preferred) and Informix 4GL. We operate with Informix Standard Engine and RDS is available. All programming and testing will be performed on an IBM RS6000 machine through ASCII terminals or Xstations. Ability to thoroughly test programs and verify test results is very important, as well as the ability to coordinate with other members of other project teams when changing and testing programs. Previous experience with a systems development methodology is a plus. Personal Skills Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Because this project is closely intertwined with other projects currently in progress, it will be necessary for team members to communicate frequently with regard to status of changes, testing coordination, etc. In addition, communication with the project manager daily, and status reports reflecting, hours spent and task progress on a weekly basis will be essential. Contractors will be required to conduct code walk- throughs. In some instances, the contractors will be required to communicate with users on testing requirements and documentation. Individuals should be capable of taking initiative and communicating issues and questions as they arise. Hiring Process Only qualified candidates need respond!
