Have Informix research bug id 85816, and see if it pertains to you. It's a recent bug that was assigned within the last 45 days that we came across on our system and involves a very specific type statement involving null on an indexed column. Fortunatley or unfortunately for us, it brought our system to it's knees. However, this allowed us to treat it as a down system and we received a patch within a couple of days. By the way, our system specifics are as follows: Sun Sparcenter 2000e Solaris 2.6 Informix 7.14ud5x3(2 patches incorporated specific to us) Two final notes. Apparently this bug has been around forever, going back as far as version 5 engines. However, it did not impact us until we upgraded our operating system from Solaris 2.4 to 2.6. Second, we are also seeing a potential memory leak on an different system. This system is also running informix 7.14ud1(unpatched) on an HP k400 running HPUX 10.01. The system is running a PeopleSoft HR application. What we see are sessions that continually grap memory as user do data entry. The memory does not free until they log off. The specific memory type is ralloc. We have not identified the leak yet, but there are some similarities with the bug mentioned above. Fortunately, we have 1 gig of memory on this system, and the system has handled the leak so far.
