Screen Blink calling fgl_elog

Has anyone come across or know why when a call to fgl_elog is done like: fgl_elog("udadm_02.4gl", 373, status); the screen blinks? This is code generated from 4GL and not from ESQL/C. We've narrowed it down to this call by pre-compiling the .4gl to .c and then commenting out the fgl_elog call and everything works correctly. The errorlog has also been started. Any help is welcome.
