I-Net
Posted in 1994
Help! I have posted a similar note once before, but an trying again. I have Hyperscript Tools 2.0 and I-NET TCP/IP 5.02.UC2 installed on my 486 running WIndows 3.11. I wish to access an informix 4.11.UC database on an NCR 3450 running UNIX. Have AT&T's Stargroup LAN MGR 2.2B installed on the PC which has Microsoft TCP/IP included. I am told that this version is Winsock 1.1 complient which is the I-NET requirement. LAN MGR appears to be working correctly. I can ping from my PC to the UNIX box. LAN MGR netadmin works fine. But I can not get the I-LOGIN utility of I-NET to work. The error message I get is: Database: Sqlcode = -932 WINSOCK Error WSAStartup [WSASYSNOTREADY] I have the LDLLSQLW.DLL file and WINSOCK.DLL right where Informix tells me to put them. LDLLSQLW.DLL is 41,663 bytes and only in c:\\windows\\system WINSOCK.DLL is 46,336 bytes from 6/28/93 in c:\\lanman.dos\\netprog I also tried a 12/20/93 47,968 byte version of this file. Any more suggestions? Anyone run I-NET with MS TCP/IP? I don't have MS TCP utilities, does this matter? This is apparently a low level error. I am not making to the UNIX box at all.
