question 1: I'm not entirely sure, but you should be able to point archecker to a file instead of a tape device. Only way to find out is to do it, right? question 2: the environment variable for archecker is AC_CONFIG. This points to the location of the ac_config.std file. But unlike the ONCONFIG environment variable, put the entire path of the file as the value for AC_CONFIG.
