Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Dear Informix Online Server 6.0 UE1-users
we have some problems with installing ESQL/C 6.0. We are using the
SPARCompiler 2.0.1 as INFORMIX has told us. Our Workstation is a
SUN SPARCstation 10 (2 processors) with Solaris 2.3. We are using shared
memory and have the following sqlhosts-file:
learn_online onipcshm bfws4i onlineipc
We think that we have installed the environment and the onconfig file
properly as the tool dbaccess is running without problems.
The following small programm demo.ec seems to be compiled properly
by esql but during run-time it produces the error-921 for the
sqlcode variable.
#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
EXEC SQL include decimal.h;
EXEC SQL include sqlstype.h;
EXEC SQL include sqltypes.h;
EXEC SQL WHENEVER ERROR STOP;
main()
{
EXEC SQL BEGIN DECLARE SECTION;
float avg_quantity;
EXEC SQL END DECLARE SECTION;
printf( "DEMO1 Sample ESQL program running.\\n\\n");
EXEC SQL connect to 'stores6@learn_online';
printf( "Connection installed.\\n\\n");
EXEC SQL SELECT avg (quantity)
INTO :avg_quantity
FROM items;
printf( "avg_quantity: %f\\n\\n", avg_quantity);
printf("\\nProgram Over.\\n");
}
Who has encountered that error-921 before and can help us?
We would be quite lucky to hear from you.
