IDS2000 on Red Hat 6.2

All, I have my server running on Linux and can connect locally but I can't connect across a network. I get an error -908 "Attempt to connect to database server (servername) failed" when using I-Connect. My client machines can still connect to my NT server which has informix7 server so I am ssuming that my clients are configured correctly. Are there any settings on the Linux OS that need to be set in order to make the server "listen"? Am i right in assuming that the port number for the server is determined by the entry in the sqlhosts file? Any other ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks in advance Ian Thurbon
