I have Solaris 7 (Intel) with Infx 7.31. I want to use all or most of my 128 Gig RAID Array for raw chunks. Am I going to hit the 2 gig limitation on chunk sizes? If so is there a way around the limitation? How do I utilize my entire array for raw chunks for Informix. thanks
You have to get a Volume Manager like Veritas VM which can create more than the 7 partitions that Solaris is capable of alone, then divide the array into 64 or more chunks <2GB each. Art S. Solaris for Intel can have 16 partitions per disk, still well under the 64 required :-) -- Paul Watson # WF Software Ltd # You are only young once Tel: +44 1436 674729 # but you can be immature Fax: +44 1436 678693 # for ever www.wfsoftware.com #
the page numbering structure in Inforimx limits the chunk size to 2 gig.
