I am having a problem with access to tables through DAO 3.5 (older versions
also). My application connects to the database using both DAO and ODBC API.
On both connections I execute a "SET ROLE rolename" command.
On the ODBC API connection all SQL calls work correctly, however, the SQL
run on the DAO connection returns the Informix error -272 No SELECT
permission.
The following is the VB6 code
Set ChildDb = OpenDatabase("FMS", dbDriverComplete, False,
LszConnectString)
SQLString = "SET ROLE FMS_SUPR"
Call ChildDb.Execute(SQLString, dbSQLPassThrough)
SQLString = "COMMIT"
Call ChildDb.Execute(SQLString, dbSQLPassThrough)
SQLString = "SELECT * from bhfms.fms_case"
Set rstCase = ChildDb.OpenRecordset(SQLString, dbOpenSnapshot,
dbSQLPassThrough)
The last line produces the error. Any help would be appreciated.
