SQL-Retreiver & The FAQ
Posted in 1994
Hey World, I made a slight change to the FAQ recently which has caused some people to think bad things about SQL-Retreiver from Visionware: > 6.3 Where can I get an ODBC driver? > ------------------------------------ > Visionware have a product, SQL-Retreiver (ruff!) which does *NOT* require ^^^^^ > I-NET on your PC, More information from info@visionware.co.uk. No no no no no! I'm NOT trying to imply that SQL-Retreiver is a "dog". Actually I was under the impression that it was one of the better products because it doesn't require I-NET (which regularly seems to come in for bad press). I HAVE NEVER USED THIS OR ANY OTHER ODBC CONNECTIVITY TOOL! Retreivers are a type of dog that have been bred to retreive things without breaking them (like dead ducks). Golden Retreivers for instance. I thought it was mildly amusing but it'll disappear in the next release. FYI: Don't infer that I'm a dog lover either - I think they're stupid creatures - Kerry S --------------------------------------,------------------------------------- Kerry Sainsbury, kerry@kcbbs.gen.nz | THE INFORMIX FAQ Quanta Systems, Auckland, New Zealand | kcbbs.gen.nz:/informix/* | mathcs.emory.edu:/pub/informix/faq/* +64 9 377-4473 (work) 276-5546 (home) | quasar.ucar.edu:/?
