The commands with which are "testing" your server are "onstat" commands,
not "onbar" commands.
What happens when the "onbar -l" command is issued on Server A?
* What messages appear in your online.log file?
* What messages appear in your bar_act.log?
Are you setting environment variables in each of your ALARMPROGRAM script?
* INFORMIXSERVER
* INFORMIXSQLHOSTS
* ONCONFIG
If so, can they be change by another script like $HOME/.kshrc.
How do you administer the two Informix systems? In Informix classes,
users logon to a student userid and then issue "su informix".
(The absence of a "-" in the "su" command is crucial).
The Informix environment variables are set in the student userid's
profile and are inherited by the Informix session.
Are you using a similar approach?

Sorry, the program used for testing was "onstat"
<p>well ...
<p>in BAR_ACT.LOG appears this sequence of messages:
<p>2000-02-08 08:23:25 6336 6335 /usr/informix/bin/onbar_d -l
<br>2000-02-08 08:23:26 6336 6335 WARNING: A log backup is already
running. Can't start another.
<p>in ONLINE.LOG appears this sequence of messages:
<p>08:23:24 Logical Log 10463 Complete.
<br>08:23:31 Process exited with return code 152: /bin/sh /bin/sh
-c /usr/informix/etc/log_full_A.sh 2 23
<br>
"Logical Log 10463 Complete." "Logical Log 10463 Complete."
<p>in this moment I've tesed the server A, and don't run any log backup.
<p>thanks.</html>
If these messages are occurring at the end of an OnBar archive, there is
nothing wrong. The last step in an archive rolls the current log file
and then offloads it. The alarmprogram traps the message that the log
file filled up and tries to start another OnBar session to offload it
and finds the session for the archive still running. Just ignore the
message.
