"Could not write to a temporary file" error

Dear fellow informix enthusiast, i am in the quest for more than the manual can give. I would like your wisdom, knowledge and thought upon the different cases that would ...... prompt the 'Could not write to a temporary file' error (free list problems, too many open files, etc.) or what the actual error means/implies. For example what does the following error indicate on running the section of code below? (4GL= -264, ISAM= -107) Could not write to a temporary file. ISAM error: record is locked. LOCATE blob_name IN MEMORY FOREACH selectCursor INTO blob_name CALL DO_PROCESS() END FOEACH FREE blob_name Does the error emplies: 1. the record is locked and thus informix is unable to write to a temp file. 2. no more space in memory so write to a temp file. But no more space/what_ever_reason to write to a temp file, report error (as suggested in the manual) and try to read record anyway. ? Opinions and comments would be welcome. regards, ron
