Having trouble compiling some older c programs with current informix on a linux box. Library reference errors. Hopefully someone can help us get these programs compiled. Larry Naylor larnaylor@earthlink.net (602)264-6115

If the problem is missing libraries, then the cause is not using the esql script to link your programs. Using the esql script is the only way that is guaranteed to work. The names of the libraries, and the number of libraries, let alone the sequence of the libraries, changes from release to release. If the problem is missing functions and the function names start _iq, then the C code you've got was either created from ESQL/C source code by an older ESQL/C compiler, or was written by some smart alec who thought using the ESQL/C interface functions directly was a good idea. In either case, the answer is probably to revert to using ESQL/C instead. If neither of these is the problem, then you need to tell us more accurately what the problem is. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
