Terminal Emulators and Informix

I have recently come across a problem and it is a showstopper for me. I am trying to write an sql that is called from an Expect script. However, when run from various terminal emulators it fails. I have had success with the script when running it from the Linux Bash shell, the AIX term shell on AIX 4.3.3 and from KDE's (Linux) shell. But from any other emulator or terminal it fails. I believe that Informix is querying the Term variables but I do not know how to set it up or force it from differing emulations. Ths script is writing in Korn shell, it then Executes an Expect script which feeds the information needed for the SQL. When the SQL completes it sends the data to a file which is then picked up by the original Ksh program and prints it out. All variables are exported. I'm stumped since it works from some emulators but not all. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please send repsonsed to fugkev@vanhoof.com or fugkev@wsinc.com
Have the script dump its environment. Could be something is not being set. Art S. Kagel kevinf wrote: > > I have recently come across a problem and it is a showstopper for me. > Have the script dump its environment. Could be something is not being set. Watching an app run, with a simple prompt command and a call to run a child, I did echo "1^J" | test.4ge Poof, input and thats it, seems that immediately after the prompt command, the app dies. The same follows for input commands. However, change the ^J to a ^M and hello, it works, however, this is not really consistent since I found that r4gl applications behave slightly differently to i4gl builds of the same app. \\r and \\n both work in r4gl builds, but only \\n works in i4gl builds. brettt > Art S.
