You cannot restore individual dbspaces with ontape in the way that you are
attempting to do :o( This is a common question.
Informix considers the dbspace to be out of sync until you re-apply all
transactions made since the backup was taken by restoring from the logical
logs. The problem with this of course is that your drop database stmnt will
also be re-applied and you won't be able to achieve your objective. As far
as I'm aware non of the Informix backup programs, ontape, onarchive or onbar
allow you to restore individual dbspaces in the way that you describe.
