Restore single table & BMC's SQL-Backtrack

Hi everyone!
Thanks for the responses to my ques. about doing a single table restore.
One of the answers suggested that I use the BMC SQL-Backtrack utility,
and after looking at the product description, it sounds really
promising. See

Anyone has any experiences with this product?
But in the interim what do I do? (that's provided I get approval to buy
this new product!!)
I thought about using the dbexport utility on a regular basis on the
database, but this requires that the database be 'offline' during the
dbexport. The problem with this is that users sometime schedule jobs to
run overnight which would therefore lock the tables up.
Running unload SQL stmts on every table is a more workable solution but
would be slow for a large database. I'll have to split the unloads up
and do them in parallel for each database. Then compress them and save
them to tape. That'll probably be the best solution for me right now.
Thanks to everyone for their contribution!!

Hi John, Good idea. I'll check it out. We have 2 servers with IDS 7.3x so it should work with those. The others are all still at 5.0x (hey, they they work well!). I'll have to use the unload for these. Thanks, Sam.
