Hallo dear informix user! I'm a new informix user on Linux. Nice System and a nice database. I didn't studied all the manuals, so I have one question: I want to read data from a Textfile into a table inside the informix database. I've lpassed through the manuals but there was no hint! Please give me a short help. It is essential for using this database. thanks! If the file is a delimited file you can load using the dbaccess LOAD
verb:
LOAD FROM filename INSERT INTO TABLE .....;
If the file is fix field ascii data you can use the dbload utility
(actually dbload can handle delimited data also). Look in the manuals
for how to build a command file for dbload. Dbload can load data from
multiple input files into multiple tables, a rther neat utility.
