ISQL7.50.UC5 show error messages

Hello Informix-Users. Can anyone tell me, what i have to do, when i want to show error messages instead of error numbers in ISQL7.50.UC5 (DBMS: Informix Ultimate 11.70.UC3, OS: SLES11 SP1)? Example: When i do a query and there are as result no rows, the ISQL.7.50.UC5 shows me the Output "ISAM or system error number 3400". In ISQL.7.50.UC1 (under IDS7.31.UD10X1) i get an output like "There are no rows satisfying the conditions". I want to get the error message in ISQL and not only the error numbers. Any solution? Is there a config-parameter or an entry in a config-file or something else, which regulate this behavior? Thanks Sascha

You get that error message when ISQL cannot locate the message file that is supposed to contain the proper message, or cannot locate the message in the file with the correct name. -- Jonathan Leffler <jonathan.leffler@gmail.com> #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix - v2011.0612 - http://dbi.perl.org "Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused." --0015177418a08fa72104ad634176
Thanks for the response. I think the ISQL error message files are installed correctly. The error message file is installed in "$INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333/errmsg.txt" and the environment variable "SQLERRORFILE=$INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333/errmsg.txt" is pointed to that file. Furthermore i can use the finderr command without any problems. When i do e.g a "finderr 3400" i get the following Output: "-3400 There are no rows satisfying the conditions. No rows in the database match the values that are entered in the form. Enter different values, and query again." Any other ideas, why i get only the error numbers in ISQL7.50.UC5 ? Thanks for your efforts. Sascha
