The PM needs to run this report interactively whenever he wants so I was going to put it into a unix script. I'd really like an after insert trigger on the main table when completed goes to not null it updates my holding table and I generate a report from it. I very much appreciate your help and if I'm being dense please excuse. Liz Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

See, I knew there was something we weren't being told! OK, prepend the
query with UNLOAD TO some_file_path... Then in the shell script wrapping
the dbaccess session, read the file into an awk or perl script to format
the delimited output file into a nice report. How about that?
Alternatively you could use Perl DBD/DBI-Informix, ESQL/C, ISQL-ACE, or
R4GL/C4GL/D4GL to create the report directly any of these can go against
the database.
