Using INFORMIX-4GL Version 7.30.FC4 on SunOS 5.7, I am getting the following results. This compile worked on an earlier version of Informix and SunOS. Does anyone know why it can't find the objects in the specified library files? I have used the ar command to list the contents of the library .a files and I can see the objects. Is this a SunOS or Informix problem? ----- c4gl -s -lsocket -lnsl -DSunOS - I/testinf/cust/src/h -I/testinf/base/src/h - I/usr/informix/incl -I/usr/informix/incl /tools -I/testinf/base/src/globals \\ /testinf/obj/lblsch.o \\ /testinf/obj/lbl_getargs.o \\ /testinf/lib/english/ul_lib.a \\ /testinf/lib/dblib.a \\ /testinf/lib/lbl_lib.a \\ -o lblsch Undefined first referenced symbol in file log_4gl /testinf/lib/dblib.a(dbmanag.o) rl_dspsig /testinf/lib/english/ul_lib.a (ul_initsk.o) ld: fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output > written to lblsch Since neither the dblib.a nor ul_lib.a libraries are provided by Informix, only you can decide where those functions are defined and supply the missing references. The function names are most unlikely to be Informix names; they aren't anything that I recognize and aren't built the way Informix function names are normally built -- assuming that there is such a thing as a normal notation for building Informix function names, which is at least debatable. I think you need to look at how the dblib.a and ul_lib.a libraries are built. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
