Need efficient change data capture mechanism

I have the following requirements for an application I'm working on:
- capture database changes from Informix in near real-time (within a
second or two)
- do so very efficiently (via logs is preferable) - no triggers!
Don't think onlog will do this for me since it can only go off
archives (my last understanding of it).
Anyone know of such a capability? Are there any hooks to just capture
the data inside Informix replication?
Thanks much.

What are you going to do with the data?
ER provides it - not too far off real-time for some purposes.
HDR provides it too - similar comments apply.
Neither is intended for user programs to consume.
