hello, we are looking for the best (and simple...) way to authenticate a user via ldap. In the documentation, it seems possible using pam. Is it the only solution ? configuration : informix 11.70 for windows - active directory is on windows server 2003 Thanks in advance
Hello. It will mostly depend on your needs. Will you use AD to authenticate your users in Informix server? (single signon)? If so, there is a full section in Information Center website, just search for SSO and you will find it. If not, if you want it just to work as a way to centralize your Informix users in AD, you should use PAM, really. In linux I´ve already seen some users using SAMBA, as a way to reach windows AD. Check Mr Fernando Nunes blog, there are two excelent articles there explaining the ways to do it. http://informix-technology.blogspot.com.br/ If you have some specific question, please ask for help here again, and we´ll try to help you ok?
