RE: Senior Oracle DBA now Learning Informix by Request
Posted in 2006
Despite the subject line, this thread contains no Informix technical question at all. A poster forwarded an Oracle press release about Q2 FY07 earnings (GAAP EPS up 20%, database/middleware new licence revenue up 9%) and joked about what counts as "new licence revenue" given Oracle's pricing tactics. The handful of replies are banter about press releases being misleading, percentage growth from a small base, and a playful dig at Oninit's own marketing copy. No problem is posed and no resolution is recorded; skip unless you want industry gossip.
