User connections, turning on logs
Posted in 1998
Hi All, I would appreciate help in the following areas. It would be greatly appreciated. My background is primarily Sybase. A friend of mine here at work has an open case. We would be interested in how to resolve the following: I would also be interested in a 'solid' reference list of manuals/books for learning Informix on NT. (7.3) I apologize, these errors are not verbatim... Error # -1802 - Connect type already exists. Please rename the connection. All connections must be unique. Question: what causes this error? Is it possible to get this error, even though the connection is closed? I've been told Informix is Single-Threaded. Unfortunately, I do not know how the system is setup w/ the person who is getting this error. At our site, we are getting the following errors: Error # -256 ..refers to logging on the database. States that logging does not exist. How would we turn logging on? On a database with logging, (we created a new database), we get the following: Vendor Error: No free connections for Database. - We are able to connect to the database directly via the server, however, the connection does not work from the client. So the database itself, does allow connections to exist. Except, this does not seem to be the case from the client. Ideas? Thanks for your help! Greatly appreciated! Klint
