Re: Is scrolling field exist in 4GL forms (per)?

Jonathan's explanations have given me an idea. >If you are doing a query, it happens automatically without any >attribute being specified. In this case we can do similar case for data entry. During the entry when user hits the 40st char that triggers and opens a new small window in the middle of the screen. That window will have one field that is divided into three segments so that it can hold 120 char long string. Now I have two questions: 1- How will the new window be triggred? In other words how would I know that the user hits the 40st char at the field in the main screen? 2- How am I going to carry over the already typed 40 char to the new screen and position the cursor at the 41st char? Any idea will be greatly appreciated.. :) Thanks Sinan. >From: Sue_Davidson@exe.com.au >To: "Sinan UST" <sinanust@hotmail.com> >CC: informix-list@iiug.org >Subject: Re: Is scrolling field exist in 4GL forms (per)? >Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2000 13:35:18 +1100 > > > >Sinan, > >This is a previous posting on the subject:- > >[James wrote: > > I have a question on forms...what is the attribute that allows you to >type > > past the second > > delimiter on a form and places the cursor at the bottom of the screen >and > > allows you > > to keep on typing in text?
