Update Stats after Create Index?

Hello, I am on informix 11.50.FC4. If I have a new table loaded with 80 Million records and create 5 indexes. Do I still need to run update statistics? --Dave

Hi Dave, The answer is really predicated on what you mean by your question. If what you are asking is: "Do I still have to run update stats in order for my indices to be recognized by the optimizer" Then the answer is no. Create Index commands do that for you automatically now.
