But it is definitely not easy to use. If, like you said (has just cracked open the book), you really shouldn't be jumping into it. I would say, try it out, as long as you need to be comfortable with it. Use tbtape for the time being. It is really easy to use, just one command with a few arguments only. good or bad. depends on the judging criteria, really. (what a useless answer) I like it, but I'm using it as yet, probably not for a long time. Its good in the sense of its functionality. Its what most DBAs has been wanting for a long time. Its (bad??) point is that it has a lot of steps, especially during setup. After much laborious setting up, then a normal user can perform the backup on behalf of the administrator. (really good). Anyway, I have mixed feelings. I like it, but probably won't use it, and will advise people to think before using it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Calvin Ng email: <calvinng@technet.sg> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- [DISCLAIMER] Read at your own risks.
