I've seen HP's Omniback Storage Mgr used with IDS 7.31 & 9.30 installs. It =
works well with onbar, and I have successfully restored our 1TB+=20
databases.
The caveat with Omniback however is how it scales in an enterprise=20
datacenter as databases grow, logs fill up faster, and additional systems=20
are added to the cell. When you reach a certain level of concurrent backup =
sessions.... it bombs due to it's velosys (spelling?) internal DB. A work=20
around for this is to split a over burdened cell into multiple cells to=20
reduce the load on the cell server... meaning create two cell servers on=20
separate hosts.
Another metric here to consider is what other systems / applications may=20
be included in the storage mgr's scope. Will your other applications work=20
with the storage mgr, and will the application vendors support the storage =
mgr moving forward when they release upgrades?
Hope this helps

My company needs some information about the best Third party storage=20
manager for IBM Informix database engines.
We have IDS 7.31 on SCO UNIX , and IDS 9.3 on Win 2000 Intel based=20
machine.
=20
What are the recommended Third party storage managers?
=20
Advise me only if U R sure.
Thank U and my best regards to all my colleagues.
