U means Unix - mainly 32-bit (there's the odd exception where it is a 64-bit system, such as DEC OSF/1 or Compaq Tru64 Unix -- two names for the same thing). F means 64-bit Unix. H means hybrid and/or HP. IIRC, it is for 32-bit software running on a 64-bit o/s, such as stuff compiled on HP-UX 10.20 running on HP-UX 11.0. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
