Lost database! URGENT

The problem: after restarting the Informix server (in order to modify the config to be able to backup the server!!!), my database were lost: files are still here but the server doesn't remember anymore about the corresponding databases. Is there a procedure to re-link databases and dbspaces to existing files? Thank you for your help. Serge

If you restarted the engine with oninit -i or modified the onconfig using onmonitor and said YES when it asked if it should initialize the engine, you are hosed. Time to restore from back ups if you have them. Art S.
