Kernel I/O on AIX 4.3.x

Hi,
I'm running several Informix-Servers on AIX 4.2.1 (Informix 7.30 UC 3) with
activated Kernel IO. But when
running on AIX 4.3.x I can't see no kio-VP's when I invoke onstat -q ioq or
onstat -g glo. I think I configured KIOcorrectly; in fact I've done the same steps like in AIX 4.2.1 (using
SMIT/devices/AIO /...). What's different with 4.3 ??
Is there another way to check, if Informix is using kernel IO. Any
suggestions ?
Thanks is advance

You should see them with the onstat -g ioq. I'm also on AIX 4.3 and
Informix 7.3 and this is the results of my onstat:
court2 # onstat -g ioq

Check to make sure you pointed your chunk path's at the "raw" side of your
disk definitions. I made that mistake when I did a quick "cut and paste"
from some scripts and Informix "knows" and didn't use KIO. BTW -
performance stunk on that system too!
Did you check to see if it is actually configured. do an lsattr -E -l aio0
to verify that the aio subsystem has been configured/
Are you using logical volumes, if so make sure that you are using raw
logical volumes.
Have you rebooted the system, if so make sure that in the attributes it
reads to configure the AIO subsystem when it comes back up.
Crappy performance, eh? We have an an s/80 with 8 gig of ram and 6
processors at 440mhz. There is a storage shark disk array attached to it
with 3 gig of cache and 1.68 terabytes of disk. The shark is shared with
another system, equal in size and performance.
We are getting damn good performance from this system , give it that we are
coming off of a crippled 5100s with 4 gig of ram........
But loading and indexing data, we are getting some fine performance there,
although another book of processors, and some more IO cards will speed this
up even more.....
