what about the number and size of logical logs?
What are the states of update statistics on both machines?
Are the tables/database you are loading into on both machines equally empty or
full?
What are the extent settings for the tables on both?
Was the dbexport taken with -ss included?
Are the chunks for the various tables contigous on the slower server?

It could be due to many reasons. I would start looking at:
1. RAID configuration
2. Controller write cache
3. using dd, get an idea how much time it takes to read/write at file (say 2
GB file) on file system where chunks have been setup
4. Using another ONCONFIG for dbimport with modified checkpoint interval, LRU
MIN, MAX and some other ONCONFIG parameters
5. Not sure if export PDQPRIORITY=100 will help on 7.31 but with IDS 9.4 it
helps
Cheers

Hi
I have IDS 7.31 on hp-ux 11i(4 processor, 16 GB memory).
when i do dbimport it takes 5-6 hours for 7GB DB but it gets killed.
I tried the same in relatively low configured server( 2processor, 8gb ram)
it completed in 3 hours.
onconfig & kernel parameters are same in both the servers.
what could be the reason.
