Hi. I did this test in my box, I wrote 100 MB in two filesystem, one of them was in RAID5 and another not. The two filesystem was over the same kind of disk. Well I got this values: Filesystem without raid5: 8500 KB/s Filesystem with raid5: 2200 KB/s In fact, the write throughput is ones of cost. Maybe, you should do your own test and evaluate the results.
