Prasad Check out your TERM environment variable. If it is not set then set it to vt100 or something else depending on your preference (AFAIK, Exceed pops up vt100 by default, but does not set the TERM variable, at least thats what it does it in my box here). You need to set the TERM variable in your .dtksh file or set it in your .profile and source it from .dtksh file. If this does not work, probably the TERM you have chosen does not exist in the $TERMCAP file. Check out what TERMCAP is set to. It can be set to either /etc/termcap or $INFORMIXDIR/etc/termcap. One of them will probably contain your terminal name, unless you chose something exotic like xterm-color (for example). I connect to informix server using exceed and when I try to execute isql from the prompt I get the following error message "The type of your terminal is unknown to the system". I am logging using as "informix". I am not sure if I am doing some thing wrong or if there is something with db configuration or some other net work configuration. I was hoping somebody might be able to help me out with this. Thanks in advance. Regards, Prasad
