RE: sysdistrib table all fragmented

You've already had input on consolidating this, I'm going to toss in .02 from Mr. Clark. Always make sure you drop your old distributions before doing update stats high or medium - else your are 'growing' this table - I don't quite grok that yet, why would it not just replace existing distributions? However, Jeff suggests that when re-importing your DB, you figure our how big sysdistrib is going to be, alter the next extent for this table before importing anything, and then do your import. That way you wind up with 2 extents, but the second one is large enough to hold everything. cheers j. > -----Original Message----- > From: brian@asl.ca [mailto:brian@asl.ca] > Sent: Tuesday, December 05, 2000 5:22 PM > To: informix-list@iiug.org > Subject: sysdistrib table all fragmented > > > One our databases has a sysdistrib table that has a few > extents grabbed. > The problem is that they are blocking other "normal" tables from > consolidating. > > How can I get sysdistrib to reconsolidate?
