onconfig paramters for ontape backup db

In onconfig is it enough to define the TAPEDEV device path? (i.e. can all
the other Paramters be used in there default valuse)
All i need to do is a simple backup of the DB on tape in my unix.
If the other Paramters in onconfig need values, can someone give me their
standard ones.
TYPEDEV ?
TYPEBLK ?
TYPESIZE ?
LTAPEDEV ?
LTAPEBLK ?
LTAPESIZE ?
Thanks

The default ONCONFIG values can be used, but they're unlikely all to be
suitable. From memory, the default for TAPESIZE is tiny - about 10,000
pages - so you'd want to beef this up to at least the size of your database
server, and you might as well set it to slightly below the capacity of your
tape drive.

Whatever you tape device is, or the disk file/device you will use
instead.

For actual tape block size of 64K works well for most streaming drives.
If you have a high speed tape array (multiple drives as a single device)
you can try 256K.

The capacity of your tape cartridge, etc. If you are archiving to disk
and you do not have large file support in your filesystem use 2048000
(a bit less than 2GB), DATs hold from 1-4GB, DLT from 10-40GB depending
on type (DLT4000 or DLT7000) and whether compression is used. If you
are using a compressing tape device DO NOT use the full stated
compressed capacity unless ALL of your data is text. The compression
algorithm that the drives use does not compress binary data as well as
it does ASCII text. Use 2/3 of compressed capacity.

Same as above, remember your Log Tape Device may be different from the
Archive tape device.
