ADO Function Sequence Error

Hi all,
Have recently started trying to connect VB6 on Win 95 to IDS 7.30 using ADO.
I have created a Database component (ActiveX DLL) that returns recordsets
based on an SQL string passed in. At this stage I am only READING data - no
inserts or updates.
Everything seems to work ok until I try to create two recordsets at the same
time. I create a forward only cursor for:
select, contract_Ref, Client_Ref, from contract where (condition)
And then as each row is gone through I create a new query to find and dispay
client info:
select Client_name, client_address, from clients where client_ref=
(client_ref from current row in above cursor)
The Problem:
After it has gone through this process about 4-5 times, I get the error
"Function Sequence Error" when I try to do a MoveNext on the main cursor.
HELP !
I am using server-side cursors and creating the recordsets without a command
object
e.g.
Function GetQuery(ByVal argSQL as string) as ADODB.Recordset
dim rsThisQuery as ADODB.Recordset
Set rsThisQuery = New ADODB.Recordset
rsThisQuery.CursorLocation = adUseClient
rsThisQuery.Open argSQL, adoInformix, adOpenForwardOnly, adLockOptimistic,
adCmdText
Set GetQuery = rsThisQuery
Set rsThisQuery = nothing
End Function
Any thought or info would be much appreciated.
TIA

Post the Code please.
Check if you are at the end of the recordset. Also, post which API you are using - Informix ODBC, Informix OLEDB or third-party. Leopold Paul McLaughlin <paulm@scotlegal.com> wrote in message news:88b5sb$4r7$1@neptunium.btinternet.com... >
