Informix Bug?

Hi, out there. I haven't found a list of FAQs here, so I want to know, whether this is a (probably known) bug or a feature :-) I'm currently working with OnLine 5.0 and Informix Star. I created two data bases, db1 and db2. In each of the databases, I create identical tables, both named mytable. Next, I insert some rows into db1:mytable. Now, I submit the SQL statement: insert into db2:eins select * from db1:eins;and get the error message -360 Cannot modify table or view used in subquery. explanation: This UPDATE or INSERT statement uses data taken from the same table in a subquery. This is not allowed because of the danger of getting into an endless loop. First select the input data into a temporary table; then refer to the temporary table in the UPDATE or INSERT. Any suggestions?
