Jorge Assuming you have Apache and Informix running, put your C executables in the Apache cgi-bin directory, make sure the user (usually nobody check HTTP_USER to find out) who accesses your database via the cgi program has sufficient rights on the database. Also ensure that the C-program sends out the following string before it says anything else: "Content-type: text/html\\n\\n". If you are getting errors, check out the Apache log files for information. You can also check out the Apache web site (www.apache.org) for more information. I need to access Informix with a C program that runs in cgi-bin via Apache. If know something about this, please let me know. Thanks! JorgE.H
I use Windows NT Apache 1.3.6 Perl and JDBC with JDK 1.1.7 to connect to the database. The beauty of this is that all these tools run on windows OR unix, so the efforts can be leveraged in both envirinments. Thus ther perl script is called by the apache server and the perl script calles a stand-alone JAVA program that uses JDBC to access the database. this works well, but Serverlets would probably make it faster for me.
