Hello all,
I am experciencing the problem on IDS 7.3
I just installed a brand new database server. It is IDS 7.3 on Solaris 2.7 box.
Only two days, When I reboot this machine, The system can not work any more.
Since I installed the dynamic server with GLS Chinese support, The error message
display with Chinese on online.log file . I try to interpret to english, it likes :
12:07:27 Eroor " Can not reset open file maximum, must executed by super user.
The output of onmonitor:
** WARNING: Network Down **--On-Line------- Press CTRL-W for Help. --------
The system display network down, however I can telnet into this system without
any problem. Can someone give me an help?
Best regards,
W. J. Hsu
Sounds like you need to reconfigure your kernel to permit more open
files per process. The Solaris default is very small. Meantime
starting the engine as root MAY permit the engine to exceed the limit
give that a try until you can build a kernel and schedule a reboot.
