Did you modify the sqlhosts file since starting one of the instances?
If so, try restarting that instance.
Also, you showed just the DBSERVERALIASES values; did you also set
DBSERVERNAME too, to two different values?

Thanks all for your help.
I had in sqlhosts file doubled instance name that was no longer used
of type onsoctcp and that is why I couldn't connect to correct
instance. Removing this entry from sqlhosts file fixed the problem
Thanks again,
Ljiljana

I am setting up two instances on the same machine and I have following
connectivity problem.
Server 1
SERVERNUM 1
DBSERVERALIASES nysrv
Server 2
SERVERNUM 2
DBSERVERALIASES nysrvbo
SQLHOSTS
nysrv oltlitcp devtestdbs10.nyc nysrv
nysrvbo oltlitcp devtestdbs10.nyc nysrvbo
/etc/services
nysrv 1638/tcp
nysrvbo 1695/tcp
When I run
dbaccess bo_db@nysrvbo;
SELECT * FROM ny_db@nysrv:table_name;
I am getting following error:
908: Attempt to connect to database server (nysrv, conerr=-25592,
oserr=4) failed.
I have no problem switching within dbaccess between instances:
From bo_db@nysrvbo dbaccess ny_db@nysrv;
works fine, but selecting from table on other instance gives me
connection error.
Am I missing something in setup, has anyone had same problem?
