Empty system tables

All, I have an IDS2000 server running on Red Hat 6.2 and I have been testing and noticed something strange. When I create new tables (or any object) the information does not appear in the database system tables. For example 'select * from systables' will return empty even though there have been many tables created. Does anybody have any ideas why this is happening and how may I resolve this? If you created the tables in dbaccess in menu mode and the database has
logging dbaccess will have started a transaction at the beginning of the
session. Notice that when you exit it asks if you want to commit or
rollback? Just go into QUERY/NEW and enter COMMIT WORK; and RUN it. That
will commit the CREATE statements and voila they will appear in the catalog.
